No, the issue OP is having is a lack of threads.  The big maps love i7's and the 6600 will still have issues, again because it only has 4c/4t

That's the difference between the 6600 and the 6700? Shit. Cause I wouldn't doubt Intel to add on $80 cause the gave you an additional 100MHz on the CPU and 2 more MB of cache.

WUT???

Yeah, intel i7's have 4c/8t and it makes them legitimately better

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I think OP should go for a 6500 and sell his 6400. It will probably fix this bottleneck due to temps being fine.

*Upgrades CPU for a 300Mhz boost in clockspeeds*

No, not worth it at all.

A QVL doesn't show performance

Also a 6700 is WAY better than a 6600

No it doesn't I know it doesn't but it does show frequency, cache, and the core type (skylake) which are nearly identical to the 6700. Although it doesn't show cores/threads and I'm not use to the mainstream socket so I assumed cores/threads were the same between the two and I was mistaken.

That will change almost nothing.  To make a worthwhile upgrade I stay firm on i7 or stay the same

Not sure if this could be it but maybe check CPUZ to make sure your current CPU is running at its rated speed. I remember some friends of mine had issues where their motherboards would lock the CPU in its lower clocked state for some reason causing massive performance issues and their CPUs to appear to be running at 99% in all games.

Maybe he's just running out of VRAM?

It's 3GB, which really isn't a lot.

@Kakepai

Important question:

- What is GPU and CPU usage in battlefield 1? This will help to see if there is a CPU or GPU bottleneck.

- What is VRAM usage in BF1? You might simply be running out of VRAM

Not talking about BF3, talking about BF1.
