Jump to content

You should be able to get away with setting it to NVENC (or whatever it is that Nvidia uses, I can't fully remember), and then set it to scale to 720p and give it a 3Mbps bitrate.

I3 would thermal throttle way too much atleast a i5 that is oc'ed

I wouldn't recommend OBS as it's too taxing on the hardware. I recommend GeForce Shadowplay that is built into GeForce Experience, it can record upto 4K and is much less taxing on the hardware so you get minimal lag.

I am not sure if you will be able to stream CS: GO, it is a very CPU intensive game and streaming is also CPU intensive. Just try and do test stream and see how it looks, try and adjust the CPU preset if it looks laggy and 720p is probably the best option considering your Wi-Fi speed.

As the guys said above...can't he encode at nvenc so that the GPU can do the work...taking stress off of the cpu?????

 

He could stream at 480p and possibly 720p 30hz?????????

If he uses his 1060 he can manage much better than that.
