I wasnt even trying to argue man, this guy is just a force. I made a recommendation for his budget, and I stuck by it. I didnt call him out on his build and he's been nothing but rude to others. That is all.

your build is not as good as the Pentium build, buying older crappy FM cpu is a waste of money.

lol, sorry for creating chaos in this forum

Not your fault, just nerds in an environment that is always conflicting, the idea of whose right and whose wrong. Save your money, the bigger the budget the better since things get replaced over time.

Please, you have no reason to apologize. I'm sorry I didn't notify the moderators sooner, and I have now.

I hope this gets cleaned up soon so we can get back to recommending parts to you.

Again DDR3 is still relevant.

not worth it, OP should go for the Pentium unless OP can save up for a ryzen chip, only good AMD cpus are ryzen chips.

Saying it doesn't make it true.

Name one modern platform that still uses DDR3 RAM.

Skylake (1151)- DDR4
Kabylake (1151)- DDR4
Ryzen- DDR4

Intel's LGA 2011-v3 platform: DDR4

These are all the modern CPU series', and none of them use DDR3 RAM! Skylake's cheapest motherboards use it, but that just gimps them, and nobody recommends it- not even Intel. The last platform that made DDR3 relevant was LGA 1150- from 2013. LGA 1150 is outdated. It's two generations behind. The last architecture for it was Broadwell. Skylake and Kabylake both use LGA 1151 and DDR4, and Coffee Lake will too. So does Ryzen. LGA 2011-v3 has always used DDR4.

Your argument is indefensible.

I can understand, its why I asked about his budget in the first place, it was the first thing to come to mind. Is buying a $500 pc worth the cost. I know it isnt and even said in the midst it'd be better to save up.

Well, then DDR is still relevant. DDR2 is still relevant. IDE is still relevant. The fact is, when recommending new parts, it's asinine to recommend old hardware, as you'll always get less performance for the same price.

Yeah, which is why my $500 build doesn't count on any salvaging. Just pasting it here.

Unless you want to wait and save up a little more. Ryzen 3 will be here soon and will likely offer quad-cores at about $100.

No, you should post both options only if both companies make good offerings at the same price point. The Ryzen 1700 and the 7700k are priced the same but better at different things. If you plan to edit videos or stream or do any other CPU-heavy productivity work, the Ryzen 1700 will absolutely smash the 7700k. Compare Cinebench for a pretty pure multi-threaded performance comparison. But if you're a pure gamer, a 7700k will outperform a 1700 right now, as games still vastly prefer single-threaded performance, and Intel has supremacy over that.

What you did here today was post a CPU that doesn't even begin to compare to Intel's similarly priced option, and got really angry at me when I pointed that out. I wouldn't have criticized anyone for suggesting a Ryzen 1400 over a Core i5 6500 or a Ryzen 1700 over a Core i7 7700k, but AMD has nothing that competes with the G4560, and to suggest so is indefensible. They're nowhere close in benchmarks, even weak GPUs.
