Poor recommendation

linustouchtips

I just built a PC for a friend now this was a budget build. Ryzen 5 1400 just standard no oc $169. Asrock B250 mobo $58. Evga 500w b1 psu $39. 8 gigs gskill flare ram 2400 $55. But then we got to the gpu. 120g biwin ssd $53. Used one of my old cases and 1 tb hdd didn't charge for that. Now he was thinking about upgrading in the future so keep that in mind. But i recommended the evga 1050ti sc $146 for 1080p gaming. It didn't require any additional power connectors. I said it was a good entry lvl card that is fairly cheap. After everything was done we went over his budget $500.  He loves overwatch i think he'll play this the most. Was this a poor recommendation.

RX 470 or RX 570 are both massivly better value and usiually not that much more, definatly worth it seeing as there is already a 500W PSU in there

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Assuming USD...

-A RX 470/570 can be had for around the same price while being significantly more powerful.

-Not familiar with "Biwin" as a SSD brand... which usually isn't a good thing.

-PSU could be better... but for a GTX 1050Ti, it's alright.

It's rather meh but it's not absolutely terrible. You could have consulted us first ;)

recommends friend a nvidia gpu while amd has a better option.

You should burn in hell you traitor :D

Ahem, sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, it's not a great recommendation but to say it's poor, not really.

It's not bad it's sort of balanced and it could be improved, but we have seen much worse builds than that so, it's fine i guess.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

You might want to stick to touch tips

i would get the 150ti for a portable compact rig. I think all the lower end nvidia cards got trumped by amd in performance/price

Well yeah, get a RX 480 or even a GTX 1070 later. It's still a solid thing

You fucked up brah.. Ryzen CPU with Intel B250 mainboard. :P

Other than suspicious SSD brand and low quality PSU that could probably affect future upgrade, i think it was pretty solid budget rig though RX-470 is like $30 away if you're from US.
