How reliable RYZEN 5 CPUs are?

RYZEN 5 might look excellent when it comes to cores and threads, but how reliable are they? They are significantly new and they already share problem with some brands of RAM. This is keeping me from choosing the RYZEN 5 (hence only 95% complete). What if the CPU fails in coming near months?

its not gonna fail it already works near i5 levels in games and better in multi core task it really can only get better

Very reliable. I've never experienced a crash or a problem other than RAM speeds.

 

I can't yet get my 3200Mhz RAM to run at it's rated speed, but once you lower it's speed, it works flawlessly.

 

the CPU won't flop. that's for sure. we know because motherboard makers are making new models all the time, which means that there is high demand.

If I go with 16GB DDR4 3200Hz RAM, what should I keep in mind?

one thing to avoid though, the msi b350 gaming mobo. just putting it out their.

Depends on the program. If calculations can be multi-threaded (meaning the work can be done in pieces by more than one core or non-sequentially) like some AI functions, more cores will do better. Bullet and destruction are usually single-threaded, so stronger cores will do better.

 

I'd say choose one and be happy.

 

Edit: Be wary of users stating CPU usage unless they show how the cores are used overall. Example being 50%, is it four cores at 50% or is it 2 of 4 at 100% and the other cores at 0%?

Reliability and stability could be seen as different things. In one, if you're worried about things suddenly not working, I wouldn't be concerned about that. It isn't like AMD never built a CPU before. Even Intel had problems recently with a SoC they made that wore out over long use, so you can never say it will never happen.

 

As for stability, again I wouldn't worry even if it is early days. High speed ram compatibility is still a problem. If you really want to run high speed ram, find out what others have had success with and get the exact same module. Beware of minor differences over time though...

from my research ive seen people constantly getting 3200mhz to work with a 1600x chip and flare x ram with gigabyte and asrock boards.

The best that you can afford... If you're able to get an i7-6700K or 7700K or R5-1600 or R7-1700, go for one of these as long as it doesn't cut into your overall build.

Then, I'd recommend you head over to PCPP and build an i5-6600K and an r5-1600 parts lists to compare your overall performance at the same budget.

I would have gone with a much stronger GPU like a 480/580 or 1070, but it looks good. Might want to consider faster RAM if the cost isn't much higher.

If you're rendering as well as gaming, get the R5 1600 or the R7 1700, as those both have excellent coolers out of the box, and will do everything you want them to.  That is the best advice I can give you.  I've seen many videos that back this up.
