Amd TrueAudio Demonstration

Ultimate_PIMP

They could totally do that, and if they did, I would buy it and get a Maxwell GPU, but AMD know that the TrueAudio will be a major selling point.  The same with PhysX, Nvidia could make an card just for it, but then they undercut their own sales.

PhysX is better then TrueAudio, they do different things but I would much prefer high performance particle effects and accurate calculations to a slightly better audio. Esspecially when I already have a good sound card. Anyway I don't see how they would undercut their profits, if anything they would make more if you had to buy another card desperately to just get it to work on any system.

In the end of the video , he says "...Using this Gen Audio Astound sound to give player feedback and then using the TruAudio technology to not have it impact our performance"

Ok so according to that, who's doing what here?  It sounds like he saying TruAudio is just a performance feature, that without it, they can still get the same effect they are demoing.

Aside from that, there's definitely more gradient in sound transition making it less "sudden" left to right, and more realistic.

Impressed?  Actually, more like "Finally!" real time audio processing according the game, but at the same time more realistic doesn't always mean more "impressive" to everybody.  Just like car exploding on crash, when in real... it doesn't happen like that!  I also imagine in some cases, due to the complexity of sound, a pre-rendered sound might be more accurate than a simulated one (as long as one doesn't stray away too much from the physical path).
