$1,000 Budget PC Build Guide

Thanks man for your input!

yeah for the PSU it was more because of the gold certify, but I could go for lower I reckon.

There are plenty of other good 80+ Gold PSUs (efficiency also doesn't equate the quality, although the RMx is a high quality psu), whether or not they're cheaper in Sweden is another story. Check the PSU tier list in my signature, anything >=450w from tier 1-3 is good.

agree with you there, I wanted a RM for my Redstone and its corsair everywhere its possible, but for the price of the RM i could get the Antec EDGE, a MUCH better powersupply. PSU is one thing never to mess around with for fancy features or brands. get the best one you can even if its not all matchy in your build.

Redstone:
i7-4770 / Z97 / GTX 980 / Corsair 16GB  / H90 / 400C / Antec EDGE / Neutron GTX240 / Intel 240Gb / WD 2TB / BenQ XL24

Obsidian:

MSI GE60 2PE i7-4700HQ / 860M / 12GB / WE 1TB / m.Sata 256gb/Elagto USB HD Capture Card

Razer Deathadder Chroma / Razer Blackwidow TE Chroma / Kingston Cloud2's / Sennheiser 429 / Logitech Z333

I really question the $75 cooler on a locked i5 (and a $75 PSU when there are plenty of very good and much cheaper options).....that money could have been spent so much better.

Also, B150 board? Are you asking for trouble? Sure it will probably work, but it may also need a bios update.

Every LTT build guide really just makes me sit here and scratch my head. For under $1000 I can easily get in a 7600k+Z270 board+1tb hdd. And that's using a BeQuiet cooler, case, and and PSU that LTT chose.

Or I could have done the same as the above but swapped to an R5 1400 and upgraded the 580 to a 1070, also for under $1000.

Yes, if you want to activate it. Also, I would suggest looking at other build guides in this thread as you could squeeze a 1070 in that price range.

Guys I'm pretty sure that a Ryzen 5 1600 is a better overall choice than an i5 any day of the week

motherboard here is $150

replace the heatsink with the GAMMAXX 400

You could even squeeze in an R7 1700 with a $100 motherboard, and easily with an R7 570

It's the price for the motherboard, listed at the start of the post, before the first of the two price lists.

I like the entertainment-oriented videos on LTT (such as "watch me hook up a GTX Titan Pascal to this 1983 Macintosh") but the reason I subbed to this channel in the first place was because of practical videos like this.

PC Build: R5-1600.  Scythe Mugen 5.  GTX 1060.  120 GB SSD.  1 TB HDD.  FDD Mini C.  8 GB RAM (3000 MHz).  Be Quiet Pure Wings 2.  Capstone-550.  Deepcool 350 RGB.

Peripherals: Qisan Magicforce (80%) w/ Gateron Blues.  Razer Naga Chroma.  Lenovo 24" 1440p IPS.  PS4 Controller.

Audio: Focusrite (Solo, 2nd), SM57, Triton Fethead, AKG c214, Sennheiser HD598's, ATH-M50x, AKG K240, Novation Launchkey

Wishlist: MP S-87, iPad, Yamaha HS5's, more storage

10:26 of the video, you forgot the link for the Over Flow Storage thing.

Can someone give me a link to the Over Flow Storage thing that you used? I am trying to make this custom PC and I don't want to get the wrong one. Thanks~
