That's like pokemon Go when "investors" found out Nintendo didn't make it. Also AMD has been on a slow rise for the past 5 years so I wouldn't be concerned. If VEGA fails yeah be concerned

Oh I'm not saying be concerned (though a ~25% loss in a day is worrying), this is most likely a market correction given how they are not making enough profit yet to justify the price and a little flux in the tech market (about 3% is likely due to flux)

Eh I wouldn't count on it with Vega, naples might do well since it is the server market not consumer though the fact they didn't reach market projections for the initial ryzen launch is concerning (assuming this is the reason since I don't have confirmation yet) as launch demand often correlates with overall demand,

its probably due to intel having a foot hold. People on i3 can just up to an i5 or 7 for less than ryzen + motherboard and probably RAM.

vega has double fp16 performance which means its a beast at Ai, Mi25 is 25 Tflops of perf which is higher than gp100, the server market will love it (lets hope the software is going to keep up)

I found the reason btw, and Vega being double amd's current is likely not enough on the ai front given just how wide of a lead nvidia had and even if it did nvidia would simply move up the time table unlike intel they are investing heavily in performance improvement rather than simply optimizing and have planned out the next four or so years.

i don't know if you got what i meant: vega will be the fastest gpu for Ai nvidea's best is 24 Tflops (not sure) but vega going by the time the die was shown is 20% smaller in die area which should help amd have lower prices (nvidea's gpu is 600 mm^2 vs Vega's 500-530 mm^2) amd is also only using 2 hbm2 chips which also lowers cost.

the gpu server market has been a hard one to crack because of cuda ( i think its completely crazy that people would invest in a closed ecosystem like this, i would not do it ) but in resent time amd has released a cuda to openGl translator of sorts which might help, amd has had better compute for a while but most software only runs well on cuda, i guess we will have to wait and see if that will change.

My biggest problem with Ryzen is there's too few mITX options so far.
