Hi!

I'm in desperate mode of help. This is my second PC build, last time was over 5 years ago. So have done this before long time ago though, so a bit rusty, but this time it didn't go as I hoped for..
Have installed everything according to Linus and others help guides, looked at the motherboard manual to install in the right slots, etc. Have taken precautions about static electricity by having minimum clothes while building and teaching radiator from time to time.

But when I had installed everything, plugged my old PC out of keyboard, etc. and put it all in my new build, powered the PC on, fans started to spin, GPU light up., memory ok! turned red for a secound. But my screen, mouse and keyboard didn't show any sign of the function... Can not hear any beeps or stuff like that.

So started to failsearch, found that RAM or GPU might been installed in wrong slots or bad insertions. So took them out, looked at the motherboard manual once more, installed them again. Started the computer and still same results... fans start up, lights in case, but no screen, mouse or keyboard.

Also did a check it the ethernet connector on my motherboard blinked yellow/orange ang green while powerd on, but couldn't see any flashing from it...

My specs:

Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A

CPU: Intel i7 7700K

RAM: CORSAIR 2x8 GB DDR4 2666 MHz

GPU: GEFORCE GTX 1080 8 GB

PSU: EVGA supernova 650 G2

one SSD and on HDD

In the Glossy white NZXT S340 mid tower case

Someone have any thoughts or suggestion on what to do next?

try using one stick of ram at a time, and try different slots. also unplug your gpu and use only igpu. Basically unplug everything which is not completely necessary. If it works, start adding one thing at a time. when it stops working again, you know what it was

5900X

MSI MEG X570 Unify

32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

RTX 3080

Dark Base Pro 900

Corsair RM1000i

Have also now tried to remove my cpu fan and "reinstalled" my cpu. Still same results as before...

@Jonadong has a point tho... i didnt even notice you went with z170. you probably need to update your bios, which would mean find a skylake cpu, update bios, then put your cpu back

That motherboard is a little bit older so you are gonna need to update the software in it. skylake was the previous generation of cpus (6700k) and kabylake is the newer one (7700k)

@Jonadong Alright, so how can I update the BIOS like that... should I strip my old pc with an intel i5. Take that CPU, install it in my new rigg, then like install windows and all that stuff, also install BIOS for my intel i7 7700k from https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_CPU/ and store it where? On a USB or where do I install it so when i replace the i5 with my new i7 it works..

First of all, what i5 is in your old pc? If it's a skylake then yes. But if not you will either need to go to a computer shop and let them update the bios, purchase or borrow a skylake cpu and update the board yourself, or lastly return the z170 board and pick up a z270 board to replace it.
