Biostar's new Racing X370GTN motherboard can now be found on Newegg for about $110. this is the first itx board for the am4 platform. for how young ryzen is, i'm impressed with how quickly itx am4 came around. as far as i can remember, there never was any am3+ itx boards ever. shame too. i would've loved to build a mitx system with a 8350.

either way, i have a new build planned around the new biostar board. specs below:

ryzen 7 1800x

corsair h80i v2 aio liquid cooler

biostar racing x370gtn

32gb g.skill ripjaws v 3200mhz

intel ssd6 p600 1tb nvme bootup

adata 512gb ssd for adobe scratch disk use

2tb seagate firecuda 2.5 inch hdd for games

6tb wd black for recording

8tb wd red for backups

gtx 980 ti (looking to replace this with amd vega once it comes out)

silverstone sfx-l 700w 80+ Platinum psu

ncase m1 mitx case

i've had my ryzen 7 1800x sitting on a shelf since launch. i can't wait to finally put my new main mini system together! hopefully everyone else whose been waiting to build an am4 itx system feels the same way!

the 2 2.5 inches are connected to the front with a bracket that holds them as one unit. the nvme goes on the back of the board. the two 3.5 inch hard drives can go on either the floor or on a hard drive cage on the side mounting solution. i've chosen to have them on the side mounting solution so that the gpu gets as much fresh air as it can.

the side mounting has room for a 240mm aio, or it can have a 120mm aio and the drive cage. this is what i've chosen to do to let my massive 980 ti and any future Vega cards to have plenty of room to breathe.

if i really need more storage in the future, i can even put another 3.5 or 2.5 on the floor, although that would limit gpu cooler fatness and air intake.
