Anyone else having problems with YouTube Quality?

For the last 2 maybe 3 weeks or so, whenever I watch a video on YouTube, doesn't matter what if I leave it at auto over time it selects either 240p or 144p for no reason at all, then if I leave it, it goes to 480p or maybe 1080p then goes back to 144p. My internet speed is 100mbps up and down, the ping time is fast enough. So I know that's not the problem, plus if I manually select 1080p or 4K, it works without even a hitch.

It stays at the selected option without a problem.

 

Is this just happening to me?

This has been happening to me on my Nexus 7 (2013) recently, and on certain youtube videos on my PC.  IM at 150/150 FiOS internet.

it has been automatically selecting 720p for me a lot even though i can stream multiple high bitrate 4k videos without a problem. i havent thought much of it though

Wanna know the truth? You are being throttled by your ISP. Right click on the video and click stats for nerds. Then look at the connection speed if it isn't within 2Mb/s of the speed you get on a speed test you are most likely being throttled.
