im doing research about upgrading my current monitor.

is gsync a huge added feature on a monitor thats 34" 1440p 100hz with a 1080 ti

the price difference is not small. would i take advantage or a gsync monitor or save the extra money and upgrade other parts of the pc?

thanks in advance

If you're doing your darnedest to get your frame rate at or above the refresh rate of your monitor, GSYNC isn't for you.

im going from the 980 ti to a 1080 ti and ultrawide 1440p 100hz wondering if its g oing to be worth it to spend the extra $$ for an x34 with gsync for 200-400$ more for that gsync option

also va vs ips

Well again, if you're doing your darnedest to match your frame rate to the refresh rate, GSYNC is not for you. GSYNC only helps if the performance of the game is consistently below the fresh rate. And 1440p 100 FPS doesn't appear to be very hard to achieve with the GTX 1080 Ti on the highest settings.

that may change in the future though. it could help once the 1080ti starts to age and you can no longer get that 100 fps like you used to. also the main thing that gysync is for is screen tearing which isn't as big of an issue as you get higher frame-rates. at 60fps it is definitely noticeable but once you get near 100 it really starts to be less noticeable becuase the time each torn screen is shown is quite small.
