Really Old Game

So there is this really old game, Rise of Legends, I loved to play when I was younger. When windows 10 came out it disabled the ability to play old  cd games due to a vulnerability in the software. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I could continue to play this game.

Depending on your hardware, you could totally set up a Windows XP VM in VMWare Player and play it in the VM.

i have the same problem with a bunch of games, i just have another system for them all, P4 computers come cheap but if you want you could just set up a VM or a dual boot

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

VMware player itself is free. It does the virtualization job which is what you need and nothing more. There is also of course VMWare workstation player but that's actually designed to simulate a small datacenter and has more advanced options that are irrelevant for a basic XP vm :P

Virtualbox is also an option but i ran into issues multiple times before so i'm not a big fan of it...

I though VMware options cost money. I mean we use it in my cisco courses right now but I thought that they paid for licenses to use it.

Yeah almost all of them cost money, but they have like 1 basic version that's free. It could be difficult to find because vmware has soo many products :P
