Have you done color correction from monitor or from gpu settings? This sounds like monitor has different profiles for different connections and HDMI profile has  wrong settings.

Hey guys i just got a hdmi cable for my new monitor ,and all of the sudden the screen becomes white washed and pale. i have no idea what happened, i have already been through the color correction settings.

Only with HDMI? Try other cables, ports on GPU and update drivers for GPU.

updated the driver

only with HDMI. I re installed the drivers and it looked exactly the same, used 3 different cables and the all looked exactly the same. i guess it's back to VGA :(
