My Sandisk 8GB USB drive is showing up as multiple drives on my computer Please Help!

I need some help fixing my USB drive. I plugged it in and it is shows up as multiple drives I don't know why or how this happened I'm just wondering if anyone can help me fix it. I added a screenshot of what shows up when i plug it in. Thanks.

Open Disk manager and take a screenshot

Thats size looks odd  15,8MB? Looks like it has alot of partitions somehow.

Rightclick your Windows Button and select Disk Manager. Select the USB drive in it and see if it has multiple partitions.

Restart your computer and see if it goes away.  If not, delete all the partitions in Disk Management and format it as a new drive.

Is there a reason why there are so many partitions on it? That does not happen out of nowhere.

Have you tried making it a bootable drive? or something like that?

The individual partitions need to be deleted before the format though.

It's odd though for a USB flash drive to have partitions though. I am reading on it and getting mixed results on that matters. It's normal for external drives (hdd/ssd) but not flash drives

windows won't do this, but some other oses, like linux and osx will

the big thing here is the 'clean' part - this wipes the whole disk, all partitions, etc. 

and once clean is run there is no drive letter/active partitions, so you need to create a partition, activate it as primary, then assign a drive letter

It's very weird.  That's why I'm recommending deleting all the partitions.  It will let Windows automatically join them back into one.

 

Edit: Droidbot's method will work too.  It's just a little less user friendly.

Restart first.

 

If it still doesn't work properly, copy off all data and reformat in disk manager.

delete the partitions on it after a data backup and then create a single full sized one when you are done.

As stated you are having partition issues. You can use windows disk management or diskparted. You just need to remove all the partitions and create one large partition.

you are a genius. thank you. formatting with GUI wasnt working for me. this all happened after trying to install chrome os image for first time. trying again now. could be that the image was bunk due to spotty wifi or it was good and i didn't boot to usb correctly?
