TV analog to digital

waterjug

My 91 yr old grandma's friend that I'm helping out with her tv, recently canceled cable tv because it cost too much.  I bought a digital to analog converter box with an antenna, because she has an old fat tv with 1 coax input, but it's too complicated for her with 2 remotes. they switched from analog to digital, and it's an analog TV, is there some digital to analog box out there, that actually splits up the coax signal into analog channels, so she can continue to use the same single remote on her tv?

does tv have programable remote? or convertor box remote programable?

easy fix as convertor box handles the tv channels.  the tv itself will stay on ch3 or ch4.

so only power and volume needed by the tv remote.

Sounds like you need a new TV with an integrated digital decoder.

yes it does have a programmable remote, it is a special big number remote. The tv is currently working, on ch3 with the converter box on a separate remote. The special big remote paired with the TV will not pair with the current converter box for whatever reason, and it would still be too complicated to switch devices at the top of the remote.

But it doesn't work. The TV may work, but it doesn't receive a signal since no one uses analog anymore. It's time to upgrade, even to a used TV.

You what a TV box that simultaneously tunes and decodes every digital TV station and the encodes them to VHF and UHF over a coax cable so a an old TVs analog tuner can channel surf?

No, that's not a thing.

That is a thing. Tho expensive xD So not a good solution here.

Mostly for hotels. Since each channel will require a decoder / modulator module.

So yeah, Talk her into buying a new TV with built in decoder.
