Windows 8 You Suck !

I bought a Dell Vostro 5460 laptop just few hours, bring home plug in internet update. Just wanted to personalize my computer, went in to system recovery to create a recovery. It could not run. It said missing. Open other system apps like Sync, Family Safety, Storage Space same could not run. Run the recovery CD also same said missing. I was like dafuq ?!
I also run the CD on to other computer but it can run.
Any Windows "8" pro here ?

I haven't had a problem with Windows 8 or 8.1. I can't seem to understand why people hate it.

It's a tablet OS on a desktop. I've had nothing but problems with performance and compatibility with programs myself, however everyone's machine is different.

^^This..Install a couple themes/aero on there. Customize it up a bit and boom, a solid OS. I've had LESS. yes.. LESS BSOD's on my Windows 8 (like 1) than on my Windows 7 with the same rig. If something is not compatible with Windows 8, boom throw it in compatibility mode and your good. No reason to hate it.

You have aero on yours?  Where did you get it? That is the only thing I missed about my Windows 7

why is it windows8's fault if your new pc isnt working properly. go get a replacement and then calm down and unbiasedly post your experience. weve had plenty of threads about how many users dislike the os.

i agree. people like the OP will blame Microsoft even if somebody else pissed in their breakfast. Truth is, OEMs screw up OS installs all the time... they dont care because when you call them, they can then charge you to "fix" the problem.

Im on win 8 right now. And i haven't even thought about going back to 7 since i upgraded

Try installing Another os/ re-install windows 8. Sounds like the current install is messed up.

Then take about 20 minutes or so and look around and explore the OS. I went with Windows 8 and I'm never looking back

I bought W8 with my build and although I don't like W8, I won't go back. I did it because of better performance and just the fact you have to move on, we can't stay on W7 forever (although sadly).

No. It is still a full desktop OS under the hood, and it's pretty easy to never use modern UI apps.

 

New Windows versions have always been dogged by software incompatibility and other nonsense. It's funny how quickly people forget that as they fall over themselves to jump on the Windows 8 bashing bandwagon.

Ive been using windows 8 pro on my main pc and work pc the whole year and havent had a single bsod or error. I wouldnt go back to windows 7.

We know, you are 6 years behind times, and have difficult adapting to changes, and you try and push people to old software, so that you don't feel alone.

Your system is not functioning correctly due to driver or hardware issues.

You could try to go on Dell website and update the BIOS, and update all drivers, if not, return it to the store and get another one.

No issues that you reported exists, so it's specific to your system, I am afraid.

To OP just reinstall the os. Its something I would do anyway with a new laptop. Also since its a new laptop why not bring it back to the store?

So additional performance and proper support for the lastest hardware isnt good enough for you?

So what does it take then for you to upgrade your os?
