Cameras Under $300 (USD)?

Hi. I've recently become very interested in photography, primarily of cars, and I've been looking for a camera that's under $300. I'm not big on techy terms when it comes to cameras, but I don't think that should be a big problem. I don't need a camera that has every fancy feature possible, just a camera that has the most features possible in $300. I understand I won't be getting professional-grade quality, but that's not what I want. I want something that does the job better than my iPhone 5, because right now, even though I've gotten some awesome shots with my iPhone, it doesn't all of the features that a stand-alone camera can provide to me. This might be a very vague description, so if you need any more information, please ask.

Thanks.

I would truly recommend you to save up a little bit more and get a Nikon D3400. It is a really good camera for beginners photographers or people that simply like to take photos. It cost around $400 and you can get it with some bundles around $500. This camera's very novice friendly and it takes decent photos at the price.

I appreciate the answer, but $500 is another 66% of my original budget. I can probably go up to $400, but $500 is very steep.

I'll think about it, though.

Try to move up to say 400 so you can afford a D3400 or something along those lines. They are good beginners cameras unless you want a point and shoot.

Have you thought about mirrorless of DSLR or Point and shoot? Try to decide on one of those three styles. Its easier to reccomend something then.

You can always go for a used canon 700d or a used d3300. Sure there are better cameras out there for relevantly not much, but, those two perform great and can be had for that price if you go look in the used market.

You may also want to look at fuji refurbished cameras, they sell them through their own website here in the UK. You may be able (although its hard) to get a used x-t10 with a kit 16-50mm lens for around $400. Its a nice, more compact system and if its your first camera so you are not invested, you may as well.

The problem with DSLR cameras is that usually, you would need lenses to fit your needs. Another option that you can consider for photography at your level might be the camera of your smartphone. If you are planning to buy a new smartphone, check the camera that it has. Of course, it will be more than $300 but you also will be getting a smartphone and a decent camera. Please keep in mind that usually, smartphone cameras have a really bad low light performance, lack features, and control, unless you use a third-party app. I esp. wouldn't get a new phone just for the camera, but it is nice to have a decent camera on your smartphone.

Yes, this is also an excellent idea.

I'm okay with a DSLR as long as I can find one that's not very expensive. I don't need the camera to be light or small, those are just bonus perks in my mind. I've used my sister's Canon Rebel T3 so I have some experience with a DSLR.
