I5 6600(Non K): High CPU Usage

Hi there,

 

My current specs are:

Mobo: Gigabyte G1 Sniper B7

GPU: 1050 TI

CPU: I5 6600

RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX

PSU: Aerocool, Integrator 500W

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

 

When running any game, my CPU usage is always high, making it near to impossible to multi-task. I play games such as H1Z1, CSGO and GTA V.

All those games are CPU intensive, so I am not surprised. You should upgrade to an i7 if you want to multitask

That's pretty normal, especially in GTA V where even 8 cores would all be used by the game at the same time to some extent. You should be able to watch a stream or a VOD while you play though

i7-6700 or i7-6700K. You can get the i7-7700 or the i7-7700K, but you will have to update your BIOS to use one of them...

I hate so much these motherboards that won't say the chipset on its name, but if I'm not wrong it is b150, you can update its bios to work with the i7 7700 which would already be quite the upgrade but then again with the lack of data you given us it wouldn't be impossible you have other issues running in there...

@PCGuy_5960 He should go with locked CPUs since yes I confirmed it is b150 chipset... a VERY expensive b150 motherboard... could as well as have bought an Asus z1/270 insteadTy6rL51.png

Yup... a lot of new builders take looks over performance when it comes to motherboards, "ohhh that one is green and says sniper it must be better than that pathetic z170"
