A dual gk110 chip would be difficult because of the physical size of the chips.

It has less RAM than the GTX 780 actually. It's not 4GB, it's 2GB per GPU, and the contents are duplicated on both in an SLI configuration.

Yea asus has been known to do that in the past, with the ares 2 especially.

Well, technically a GTX 760 has a 4x64-bit bus, not a 256-bit bus... They're just totalling the aggregate of all the memory busses as they do with all cards (of course they will not mention the fact that all the memory data will have to be sent twice which negates the doubled throughput hehe).

I do wonder what the point of this card is, it will be weaker than the old 690, or around equal at best assuming they will cherry-pick the best 760 cores and overclock them through the roof. A 680/770 core has like 40% more cores than the 760.

Well judging that the 690 is 2x 680s and the 770 is just a 680 with faster memory, it will most likely not be as powerful as the 690, unless ASUS is planning to do something crazy

Look what I found the other day on Hardwareluxx' (German hardware reviewer) facebook page. VRM and RAM orientation indicate, that it might be a dual gpu card.

Shouldn't the 790 be two 780's? like the 690 was two 680

They covered over the chip so you can't tell what it is. If it is a 790 you would assume it had dual GK110 chips. It doesn't even show dual chips. I think seeing that without actually having someone from nvidia to confirm anything is just speculation.

More likely to be the MARS 760 than a 790GTX, @EricX2 you can tell its a dual card purely because it has a PLX chip.

I see evidence this is an Asus card. There is no way that NVIDIA will allow their dual GPU card to have non-references.
