Opinions on my RyZen build?

Before we start please pardon my poor English, if you couldn't understand a certain sentence please do ask me again.

So I have plans in building a new PC based on RyZen or basically an entire build dedicated to AMD lol....( Yeah I'm a fan of AMD, so bite me, hate me, I don't care... )
Anyways, I've asked suggestion from my local Retailers / Builders. Well my original budget is around 1600 - 1800$ USD ( Based on my currency converted to USD, though Hardware prices here are Overpriced AF compared to US / EU )
This is what he offered me....do you think it's bit " Overkill " ? What I'm going to be using for it's Gaming and maybe some Gameplay streaming / recording, don't really have any real plans for heavy workloads though. Since I'm not a YouTuber, just doing gameplay videos for fun and such. Also I be gaming on 1440p

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x - RM2599
Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero AM4 - RM1300
Samsung 960 EVO M.2 PCIE SSD 250GB - RM720
Western Digital 2TB Black - RM581
Western Digital 1TB Blue - Free ( From current PC )
SuperFlower Leadex II GOLD 650W - RM450 (Got white color or black color)
Corsair Vengeance CMU LED 16GB (8GB x 2) x2 - RM1350 ( Basically he meant by two 16GB Kits adding up total of 32GB of RAM @ 3000 - 3200mhz )
Noctua NH-U14S - RM300 ( Single fan, have to fork out another RM 100 which is about 25 - 30$ USD for another A15 )

Windows 10 Home Retail - RM 530
Phanteks EVOLV ATX T.G - RM 830
Sapphire Fury Nitro 4GB HBM - FREE ( Free from current PC )

Total : RM 8660 ( 1924$ USD )

More or less should be around this price, this is not including some extra Noctua fans and Sleeved Extension Cables.
I maybe looking at around 2000$ USD if I were to include extra fans etc.

Honestly I think the RAM is pretty good deal, for 32GB Kit at such high speed it's hard to find it for under RM 1500 ( 333$ USD )
But I think the Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVME SSD is bit overkill don't you think ? I'm actually currently running on a Seasonic P860 860W Platinum PSU on my current system.
Do you guys think I should re-use this Seasonic PSU on the new RyZen build instead ? But I will still need to get a new PSU for my current old PC, I'm thinking of giving my current PC to my Dad since his Dell pre-built it's way over 7 Years now....

Let's say if I were to get a new PSU for the RyZen build, how much Wattage would you suggest. Would you go with Platinum or Gold I feel its like a downgrade if I go with Gold instead...since I'm using Platinum at the moment.

well do you really need an 1800x could you get by with the 1700x or a 1700?

it would save you a little bit in the overall price.

my 1700 is oc to 3.8 with the stock cooling fan with no heat issues.

i lost the lottery i cant get any higher than 3.8

Actually I been thinking do I really need a 1800X the price difference here for 1800X and 1700X  is huge !

1800X - RM 2599
1700X - RM 1899

It's a whopping RM 700 as you can see the pricing on most of the parts should give you a rough idea how much is RM 700 worth here.....
Though I'm curious let's say IF DON'T OC both 1700X and 1800X. How much performance difference are we talking about ??
In 1080p gaming, we be seeing around 10 FPS lost ( Par with GTX 1080 ) right ? Least what I've seen.
When comes to workload I guess it's slightly more significant....

So bottom line, let's say BOTH are at STOCK, in your opinion is that extra bit of GUARANTEE performance for 155$ USD ( RM 700 ) worth it ??
Honestly speaking I don't feel comfortable with OCing, especially with RyZen. It's hard to OC and it runs pretty hot...( I know about the 20C Delta but still it's hot, and I'm gonna be using a U14S not even a D15 )

looks good, i suggest a 600 - 700 watt psu.

Would you spend extra going for Platinum over Gold ? I know this doesn't affect Wattage / Reliability. Just Efficiency and cheaper on my Electric Bill.
But I've always felt that Platinum ones are sort of " better quality " lol...I could be paranoid...but just curious on what's everyone opinion on this.

I never thought so. Because you only have a R9 Fury I do not think its worth it.

a good gold one should do fine, if you want quality get it from a reputable manufacturer.

Exactly. Same thing with the Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen. But I am not going to get deeper into politics here.

There isn't much advantage over 3.8 anyway. My 1700 also only goes to 3.8, although it does so at much lower voltage that 1700X and 1800X run stock. This leads to overall lower power draw and temperatures. The 1700 is the best value.

The only good PSU now we can buy are Corsair and SuperFlower / EVGA.
We no longer have a Distributor for Seasonic....real shame. I definitely will go with Seasonic within a heartbeat....

This is why I'm considering should I re-use my current Seasonic 860W Platinum on the new RyZen build instead and get a SuperFlower one for my current old PC
as a replacement.

Well in my case it has something to do with the 1MDB Scandal, political corruption. Now we the citizens are suffering...
Doubt you can barely find any news on the internet...they most definitely covered everything up.
The last person who decided to expose everything ended up like this....I dare not even speak much of this matter or I be next lol...Human Right is not something practice much here in my country.

i couldnt agree more. and at 329$ us its a very good value but i suspect the 1500X and 1500 would be an even better value when they are launched in a week or so.

Hmm sorry I don't really understand what you meant by this.
I'm buying from a Re-seller / Retail shop, not Microsoft directly. Or did you meant something else.
Microsoft Malaysia Online selling is RM 629.99 ( Not even sure it's OEM or Retail ) which is more expensive compared to this shop is selling to me.

And I guessing since I'm gaming in 1440p, I think even at 4.1 Ghz it won't make any difference right. Since I'm more heavily GPU bound.
If not mistaken, I think it be same even for a GTX 1080 Ti right?

What about the RAM speed...should I even get high speed RAM like 3000 - 3200mhz ( The built I posted above are 3000mhz - 3200mhz kits )
High speed RAM will only benefit if you're gaming on 1080p right ? And of course video editing and stuffs.

What's worst is still not many even  able to reach 3000mhz on RAM, the only success I saw was form JayTwoCentz

you are buying from a RETAIL outlet a reseller is different.

here i dont know if this is allowed but

https://www.kinguin.net/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=windows

I think it will work, but they are all OEM keys. Wouldn't OEM key be tie down to my Mobo ?
If I wanted to change Mobo in future I wouldn't able to use it on my new one.
But this is alot cheaper though....it cost only about RM 127....compared to RM 530 / RM 630 ( Retail )
Our OEM keys is about RM 430. I wonder if there are re-seller here as well I have to look around.
But what's the difference between Reseller and Retail ?
