What's your opinion on backplates?

Bluuz

Was comparing a 780 lightning and classified when I realized the classified didn't come with a backplate. I had always assumed a backplate was one of those "premium" features that came with top cards. So now I'm curious as to what others think.

back plates - if done right - are sexy things, I'd pay a bit more if i can get nice back plates - would go so far to buy a sexy back plate :P

it is nice to have aesthetically, but i would not buy a card just because of.

Love them if they look good. I have yet to see some creative ones, though. They're a bit bland at the moment. Would be awesome if ASUS decided to incorporate the ROG logo on the backplate. As in, whole covering red / black. Not just a discreet logo at the bottom of the card.

i support this

I will pay extra dollars more for that. Because that's the only part that I can see from my GPU after I put the case on to the floor.

Majority of backplates that come with non-reference cards are shocking.

All i want is a plain black matte/gloss backplate similar to what EKWB provides.

Backplates are great except when you want to put a soundcard right above your graphics card. Sometimes the space taken by the backplate doesn't allow to fit the soundcard easily.

I would pay  £10 extra for a backplate. It looks better and it is also much easier to clean and get dust off.
