Help! I think i have a rootkit

Ok, I just came home from school to my desktop to greeted by a pop-up on my desktop saying "get a latest version, would you update?" It's part of a software called "Kingo Root" an android rooting software i used about a year ago. I remember deleting this back in 2016 and apon inspection, It still is. Why am i suddenly getting this pop-up and what can i do to remove kingo root completely?

Why not? Is it giving some kind of error message?

What you can first do is go to task manager, find the process that's displaying the window and go to file location. Then you can see where that portion of it is really hiding. You should also remove it from startup.
