Which is better for the same price?

I'm about to upgrade my graphics card and i wanted to know which is better since they're both the same price. Is the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC better than the RX 480 8GB ROG STRIX? I'm just trying to get the maximum price/performance even though i know they're both on par with each other. Mind you i'm upgrading from a GTX 650 so i think i'll be able to tell a difference :]

rx480, you can find it cheaper, it has more vram, higher theoretical performance. 

from a 650 its a huge leap

480, cheaper, more vram,  better DX 12 performance.

Just get which ever cooler you like more.

Their performance is identical, similar power consumption but I guess the RX480 does have the upper hand in DX12 and vulkan titles

What's this about being cheaper? (it usually is when comparing cheapest to cheapest but not this case)

Performance is roughly the same

480 has a edge in terms of vulkan/dx12 and freesync monitors are cheaper

 

Other than that just choose which one you like the most.
