Broadwell i7-5700HQ Overclock

I am wondering if I can overclock my processor.  I have a Broadwell i7-5700HQ in my MSI GE62-Apache Pro.

Thanks Jamie

You can't overclock an HQ CPU, you need an HK CPU for that...

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

You're welcome :D

If you want slightly better performance, replace the thermal compound. If the CPU runs cooler, it will boost higher!

I have IC Diamond on both the CPU and GPU.  Is there anything better?  Also can I upgrade that processor to a newer model?

Sometimes Yes and sometimes no, I upgraded my Laptop's processor from i3(Arrandale) to i5(Arrandale) and it worked. The things that you need to take note is using CPU-Z or ARK Intel find out your CPU Socket and if it is PGA or any other socket which is having word PGA in it for EX: RPGA. then you can upgrade it but it may physically fit in your socket but your OEM BIOS may not support it. So if it is PGA or that kind then go with the processor which is in the same series as your laptop is as you are having very high chance of working. If your Socket is BGA or any other socket having BGA word in it then its note even possible to take it and place in other Motherboard as BGA chips are soldered.

I had my laptop build with specific parts so I know that it is not permanent.  I will have to look and check this out.  I would like to upgrade it.

I wouldn't recommend IC Diamond for use on a CPU or GPU die.... Use Arctic MX-4, it is non conductive and non capacitive and it performs amazingly well!

Your CPU uses a BGA socket, you can't upgrade it...
