29' Curved VS 34' Flat for Ultrawide Gaming

So I know there are a hundred other posts on the topic but I wanted to be able to specify my exact situation and budget and such. Essentially I don't want to spend more than $300 on a monitor because beyond that seems wasteful and I just cant afford it. I want an ultrawide, I know it will be 1080p but I'd rather 1080 ultrawide than 2k 16:9, that's just my opinion. My dilemma is I cant decide between a 29' curved(3000R) or a 34' flat, so I wanted advice and opinions from you guys. I sit just under ~1 meter (maybe 2/3 feet?) from my screen and have room for both, I just don't want to have any regrets so I figured I'd ask the experts on your own personal experiences. After writing this I'm beginning to think that the 29' will be better for the distance I sit at, but I've heard that IPS panels don't lose much quality at an angle but again, that's why I'm asking. Hello there I own and use a 29inch 1080p ultra wide myself and I picked up over the 34inch because when I was testing it I did feel the 34inch gets pixelated and does not look as sharp making the 29 one a better pick, if you do want to get the 34inch ultra wide it has to be 1440p or it isn't worth it.

 

Moral of the story is, 29 inch is the ultra wide 1080p sweet spot, 34 too big 25 too small.

Not gonna happen unless you go used or perhaps a Korean monitor which I wouldn't recommend.

Just go with the 29" UW and be happy with that.

What graphics card do you have? It's unlikely you could run a 1440p UW anyway.

I wanted to game ultra at 75hz/fps so yeah...

 

It is a great monitor I got the 29UM68-P and no regrets, like you said yourself I also prefer 1080p ultrawide over the 2560x1440p, it is great for productivity, a curved panel sounds even more attempting.

Oh I can run it, I have a 1080 on water! Funny story actually, I ordered a 1070 and amazon had it mislabeled and sent me the 1080 instead!

The card was a gift, I originally had the maxwell Titan X, but my brother took it and sold it without me knowing and appeared at home with a Titan XP for my birthday

 

I can't complain it feels satisfying being able to crank all ultra and have good frames per second averege on a yet great panel ^^

I love Amazon. I really do. Had a problem with my Xbox, Xbox support was useless. Contacted Amazon, they gave me a full refund and I got to keep the games it came with.

With the budget you have for a monitor the 29" is still the best choice. If you had a budget double that for the monitor, that's when I'd start to look at the 1440p options.

My old Maxwell Titan X could overclock so well it was almost a GTX 1080 at stock, so it was already overkill for the resolution, and now it is even more, but by the end of the year we plan on buying a 4k TV to play triple A games campaigns on it using the gamepad, see it as a long term investment.

Here at home we are all meat lovers so no worries about vegetables

Honestly (not to insult your titan)  I've never understood why they make the bottom of the GPU so pretty? it's literally the least visible part, why don't they instead make the backplates bootyful so we can ACTUALLY enjoy it?

I've always thought cases should have the cooler facing the window. Though I'm sure there are air flow reasons that they don't.

I believe that there are custom 16x PCIe racks that turn it 90 degrees to do just that but I don't know where to get them or how much they cost

You'd also need the case to be built to accept it, since the IO would be vertical instead of horizontal.

There are a couple cases that do it but they limit cooler size drastically.

It isn't better... they are "identical", but yes for a much better value.

But if you water cool the GPU than no point on doing it vertical in the first place all my cooling is air, I have the Ts15A from Intel, it actually performs as good as the 212 Evo but takes less space so all the better
