So how long would it take to get a bitcion with this?

Go to solution Solved by Bonsai99,

So if I may ask what about litecoins?

Mining anything is pretty much terrible unless you literally have thousands upon thousands of dollars to build a bunch of mining rigs. And if you do that, usually special electrical work has to be done in your house (especially if its older) because of the huge power draw.

So I am looking at buying this so what I would like to know is how long would it take to make my money back?

And if this is bad is there any thing I could make some money with?

don't buy that, go and get a USB Miner, you are better off with those

But can I make anything off them?

it's all luck you have with the pools you are in.

never go into bitcoin expecting a massive return, unless you have a couple thousands to just buy and sell bitcoins like a stock

then get a USB miner like I said, low power draw and it does ~800 MH/s

that's miles better than my current GPU

https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage/5-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html

http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

It would take around 250 days to break even but the profitability is declining at an alarming rate so it would take significantly longer than that and even then Butterfly Labs has a huge backlog of orders to ship (Currently shipping orders from May) so it is really not worth it

Probably in 2 years. besides bitcoints are dead.

Bitcoins are far from dead.

don't buy that, go and get a USB Miner, you are better off with those

The USB Miners are even worse.

then get a USB miner like I said, low power draw and it does ~800 MH/s

They only do 300-333Mh/s and the cost of keeping your computer on outweighs the profits.

But there is no way to make any profit at all. With the $270 miner you would atleast make profit at some point although it is really not worth the hassle. Both options are terrible either way.

Give this a read.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oto74/thinking_of_ordering_an_asic_there_is_most_likely/

Throw specs of your proposed miner in here and calculate it out.

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

Most calculators are static and do not take into account the rising difficulty. The results given are generally valid for a max of two weeks until the difficulty changes to adapt to the new hashrate added to the network. Within the past two months, we have had 4 difficulty increases which averaged 36% increase each.

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.
