Xbox One S options?

Ok! So, after having continuous connection issues with my Xbox One S I returned it to Amazon and am looking at what to do next.

I have a few options, and I was wondering what you guys thought. Always worth making sure I haven't overlooked something obvious

500GB simply isn't enough, so I'm looking to step up the capacity.

 

Option 1 - $379

Buy a 1TB Xbox.

 

Option 2 - $379 - $409

Buy a 500GB Xbox, and a 1TB HDD.
$379 is a 5400rpm drive, $409 is a 7200rpm drive.

 

Option 3 - $449

Buy a 500GB Xbox, and a 1TB SSHD.

 

Personally I'm leaning more towards the middle option, though the price savings of the first one is definitely a consideration as well.

I imagine when it comes time to sell it the 1TB will also hold greater resale value.

 

Has anyone here connected an SSHD to an Xbox and seen if the load times are decent enough to consider it worth the extra cost? If it is indeed as fast as an SSD, it's tempting.

The load times in GTA are just brutal.

 

Is there a notable difference between 5400RPM and 7200RPM when it comes to consoles?

use steam/nvidia controller? I don't get why would you buy a xbox one when you already have good PC and sony has better exclusives.

You can use controllers other than a PS4 controller?
Oh man the Nvidia one isn't the one with those horrible touch pads for movement is it?

My PC isn't actually with me, it's in storage, and I have a few friends that play Xbox pretty religiously so it's just a little more fun on that.

Scorpio is too far out and I already have a pretty large list of games I own for the Xbox.

I have friends that play, and sometimes it's just more relaxing to be on the couch. Plus my PC is in storage.

You can use an Xbox controller on PC for couch gaming

Except I'd have to move my PC...and get a keyboard and mouse for it..so wires galore.

If you have friends to play with then by all means do get the xbox then, and I advice using a 7200rpm HDD that will make it fast enough for a console, the hybrid solution doesn't quite work nice on the consoles from last I seen.

 

Also there are different supported controllers for the Playstation indeed they even have those Pro ones that reminds a lot the xbox one:

What did you look up to find that controller? I could only find the Nacon and Razer ones.

I saw a PS4 review with the SSHD, and it matched the speed of an SSD after a few runs. I just don't know if the same would be true for the Xbox.

@dizmo That specific one is from Multilaser, I still don't think the hybrid to be a good solution because the flash memory portion is filled randomly based on most used files which may vary and not straight benefit the Os... I would just save the cash going with the normal 7200rpm and buy another game

An SSHD will not give you any faster loading times, because the disk will load only the most used files on the SSD part of the it. So, unless you really want faster bootup times on the Xbox, it is not going to benefit you

I had misread Option 2 at first, now that I read it again, option number 2 is the best
