Logo design opinions

Hey guys, I have been working on some logos for my dad's company, however  i am not very good does any one have any tips or suggestions to improve the logo's I have made, or does anyone have any ideas for new logo's. The company is a financial advisory firm. I want to keep it simple

As a graphics designer I would say number two. I invision that it would look sharp on all stationary means. Keep it stupid keep it simple. Don't add fancy gradients because they often don't look well when printed on most printers.

#1 because it is simple, looks good and being monochrome will be the least expensive to use. It will also scale very well. Finally, it's in keeping with current display trends.

The second one is better than the first. Two things that I persoanlly use with logo design is your logo should be able to be used as a stencil for spray painting and it should be distinguisable in black and white.

The first point aims to keep your design simple and the second helps keep it on track of being simple but also ensured that your logo isnt going to look like crap if its printed in black and white on a letterhead or photocopied or something like that.

Look at my logo (Avatar). It can beused as a stencil and is black and white anyway, it would transfer nicely into color aswell due to the simplicity.

Generally when it comes to logo's ( except for clothing for some reason. ) the simpler the better , that's why i think #3 or #1 is really professional , nothing fancy but it does the job.
