Hello LTT Community again,

I was talking to my boss, and he mentioned that we may start thinking about upgrading our work station pc's in the future (basically have a plan incase our current 1 goes belly up).

He seems to like laptops/small form factor builds more over towers (said tower pc's are more pricey compared to laptops, etc.)

I was curious and made a list on ca.pcpartpicker, com to see if I could build something decent, but not horribly expensive.

I am not planning on gaming on this, basically only youtube watching while I work (dual monitors).

I am in Canada, so I'll most likely get my parts online, and build.

Questions? Is the GPU I selected, although very cheap, decent enough for dual monitor (720p, don't give a crap about fps).

Is Valueram any good?

Any cheaper, yet still good PSU's that you can recommend?

Good CPU/MOBO?

Alright case? Any recommendations for cheaper

And yes, I need 8gb+ of ram, due to an accounting program basically taking 8gbs itself sometimes..

I have monitors and a mouse/keyboard already. Windows shouldn't be a problem.

Basically, what I'm looking for is something that can replace my current laptop, be fast on boot, can be fast in programs, and isn't made up of crappy parts.

Also, I should only need 250gb total storage, due to the bulk of our storage is on a server, so just need room for windows/programs.

To save some money you can get rid of the GT 610 and just use the onboard graphics on the CPU.

Ditch the GT610 which is useless and with the money saved get the last gen, 7500+b250. Also m.2 ssd what for? jus get a sata three like the san disk ssd plus, cheaper and will do the same for your purpose.

Is it cheaper to go w/ a mirco atx build compared to a full size atx build?

I thought Mobo's had a single display connection though, thanks for the headsup, looks pretty solid too, and quite inexpensive.

mATX isn't inherently cheaper, but the cheapest h110 boards tend to be mATX, and there is no downside to mATX over ATX.

It depends on the motherboard. The Asrock board I included has one DVI and one HDMI port. Some boards have just one port and others have multiple. The exact number and configuration will vary on a board-by-board basis.

Something like iGPU multi monitor. Sorry

That wouldn't be affected by ATX vs. mATX. And, an iGPU is plenty for triple monitors when nothing taxing is being done (i.e. gaming).

You have a VGA monitor? The motherboard I linked has a DVI-D and an HDMI port, neither of which can be converted to VGA without an expensive-ish active adapter.

Would it be almost worth it to upgrade to a kaby lake i5, and get this mobo, which supports triple monitor (a.k.a incase I add a 3rd monitor down the road)?

You could, although a 6500 is basically just as good as a 7500. But the cheapest motherboard that has triple video outs is like $80 anyway (DP, HDMI, and DVI-D), so for an extra $15 you can get a Kaby Lake (and the board you linked with DVI, VGA, and HDMI).
