New pc build draft 17.0

Jesus Harold Christ I am indecisive. Anyway, I want to do video editing (nothing hardcore), play triple a titles in 1080p and in future, 4k (Because I`m awful with my money, I wish to play no mans sky in 4k. And minecraft.). Also, because 4k monitors can only be 4k monitors, I might not be able to play some games in 4k well. So what do? Also, is ECC important? Also, is this going to be upgradable in like 4 years without rebuilding the whole thing? In future I only really want to upgrade cpu and gpu, can this survive for a long time? And by the way, when I get a 4k monitor, (if, depending on what you cool guys say), can this play almost all triple A games high/ultra settings 4k 30-60 fps +? If not (I guess no), what upgrades would I need to do that?? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L3jmBP

everything to put it simply, for gaming and small amount of video editing a 7700k would get the job done for 4k ultra 1080ti.

I'd get a Seagate Barracuda instead

Why that motherboard?

Cooler comes with thermal paste already

depends on his definition of little. I consider what I do little but it is still a fuck ton of rendering which a 1700 maybe a 1600x if he isn't buying within 2-3 weeks would be much more worthwhile

If you're on a budget of $650, then you'll need to shop for a used 2600k (or a similar chip) or get a Skylake/Kabylake Core i7 end up gaming at 1080p medium settings with a $100 GTX 1050 or RX 460.

Alternatively, wait for the Ryzen 5 CPUs to come out in a couple of months, which will have Core i7 5820k levels of rendering performance for Core i5 prices. If you can save a little money, the GTX 1070 might be closer to $300 by then - I know that it's been as low as $340 recently.

The motherboard has like ECC. Is that good? Is that like gonna help in long term?

ECC are server rams. I don't think you need it

Yeah yeah. I guess I`ll stick to 1080p for now, though no mans sky in 4k will forever be a dream.

Could swap for 1060 6GB for about same money, but better case, hard drive, Z270 for future upgrade path... Oh yah, pretty lights too :P

Best of luck!
