g-sync?

Go to solution Solved by Darkseth,

Edit: If you DO want a triple Monitor.. PLS, even if it gives you more fps.. do NOT spend 3x the Money on an old Full HD Resolution.

Go for at least 1440p.

Very good are:

- Dell S2417dg (165 Hz, 1440p, 23,8" so VERY sharp, G-Sync)

- Acer Predator XB241YUbmiprz (same Specs, but maybe less Color Banding, and more Gamer-Design)

Both have a pretty good Price, and cost only SLIGHTLY more than the cheapest 1080p G-Sync monitors. so if it's almost the same Price, take 1440p. Believe me, it's jsut SOOOOO much more Futureproof, and SOOO much more space in desktop / Multitasking Mode...

And the Dell S2417dg at least is right now 370 Dollar in the US. Excellent Price.

is g-sync worth it, i building my first pc rn and was wondering if u need g-sync or nah. was hoping on getting a triple monitor setup 1080p, 144htz but dunno which monitor to choose plus g-sync monitors cost more so gotta know if its worth. this my build rn. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/7MdVHN

Let's have a quality discussion here. I'm not bashing you for wanting a Ryzen CPU. However, you should look into benchmarks and what that CPU is good for before you buy it, if you haven't already. It is worse at gaming for a CPU than a current Intel i7 processor if that is going to be the primary purpose of your machine - so you'd be better off with an i7 7700k.

G-Sync's worth, just like having a top-end flagship GPU, is up to you. Do you want to essentially eliminate screen tearing without introducing frame latency? If so, then go for it.

To piggey back off this

Get the EVGA g2 version of that PSU, significantly better psu for not that much more $$$ (it's an internals thing)

Also maybe look at the S340 Elite (has tempered glass, but if thats not your thing I respect that)

And yes the newest AMD chips are not as good for gaming as the 7700k.... Right now, I'd expect with driver updates they'll catch up like the RX480 GPU did to the Nvidia 1060

that was my og goal,  im still on the fence on wether to get intel or ryzen, isnt ryzen overall better tho, that what im seeing from reviewers and stuff.

Also for the case, might get that tempered glass one but ive also been looking into getting a full tower case cuz it offer better upgradability in the future. For PSU, i was getting g2 series, just too lazy to change it on pc part picker so left it like that.

Triple monitor is out....

You should go for 3440 x 1440 Resolution with G-Sync and 100 hz. There's an Asus ROG, but that thing is at 1100€~.. But it's an extremely good Monitor. And fits good for a GTX 1080.

The Thing is on a Triple monitor setup:

- You have only Full HD. 3 times.

- You have bars between Monitors

- You have it SUPER wide. But you won't be able to keep everything in your field of vision.

I think, one 21:9 monitor with a higher resolution will give you a better experience overall. No bars, everything in your view, still very wide, and sharp.

And maybe a 2nd 1440p screen which you use to keep everything in Check, like Task Manager, MSI Afterburner, Chat windows, etc.
