monitor low ms vs IPS

nikosgevre

i will buy a new monitor. i play a lot of games (most of the time i spend in my pc is for games) so i thought of going for low ms times like 1ms. but as i see the IPS monitors have better quality and some people say 5ms IPS monitors are better than the normal 1ms LED monitors. should i buy 1ms LED monitor or 5ms IPS monitor. my budget is 200euros so any recomendations are apreciated. i was looking for either the asus vx248h or the asus vz249h or the dell s2415h. thanks :)

You really won't feel a difference in speed, but IPS looks very good.

What games do you play? General rule of thumb is that the lowest input lag is best, at least for FPS and similar competitive fast paced games. If you only play games like Civilization, Just Cause, Universe Sandbox, Tomb Raider and such i would PERSONALLY not worry too much about input lag unless it goes beyond 5ms grey-to-grey, where i, again, PERSONALLY cant really tell the difference

if both monitor have same refresh rate for example 60hz or 120 hz then ips with 5ms is better than tn with 1ms. so no question i would buy ips every time.

but if the tn panel is 120 hz but ips is 60 hz...then tn is a better choice as u play games a lot. but i will still buy the crappy ips :P

Yep, refresh rates really makes a difference, not input lag. I really don't have a problem with seeing 60FPS.

i have a 5ms monitor now and honestly i havent used any 1 ms to know if i can tell any difference. i play mostly fps games like csgo overwatch and also games like dota and lol but not competitively or dont think i am any pro player :P i play for fun.

they are all same Hz i think 70. i dont have the budget for 144Hz
ok thanks i will probably go for the 5ms IPS

its like u dont need it until unless u have seen it. once u game at +120hz especially competitive like csgo, there is no going back. similarly but  to a lesser extent once u get used to ips..tn looks like crap.

i mainly prefer ips because i game very little and most of my time is spend on browsing and microsoft office.

Yep, It's like going dual monitor or ultrawide. It really makes your life easier, and you never want to go back to one.

is 27" good or i should stick with 24"? any reasons for why all pros/good players use 24" monitors and not hgher?

Is that 1080p?

I find 27" 1080p to be bad in pixel density if I am sitting too close (which I am all the time), but it is great if you sit further back.

Otherwise, I would just go for 24".
