So, i was looking at videos on youtube from 2006 and they have a really good charm to them like this 2006 video from toms hardware, where they showed what happens if you take a CPU heatsink off

But now all you see on youtube is stupid videos like:

(IM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE HERE)

1. KISSING PRANK (GONE WRONG)(GONE SEXUAL)(COPS CALLED)(ALMOST DIED)(MUST WATCH)

2. 100 layers of thermal paste challenge or something stupid like that

3. More challenge videos

4. Vine comps

5. GAMING VIDEOS LOTS AND LOTS OF LETS PLAYS
6. Meme videos

7. 6 year olds making youtube videos

The list goes on,

Log out and then go to the youtube home page, you will see everything i just said.

Im just saying, i think youtube is going downhill.

YouTube is most definitely going down the shitter, along with everything else in life.

Nothing to do with YouTube, it's down to the creators and only the creators IMO. I don't even go to the homepage. I go straight to my subscriptions and the second they start pulling the stupid thumnail and title crap they come straight off my list.

I think some channels will remain sane, though. Just the majority will be short term gain vloggers vlogging about how they nearly got killed because they had a headache after a dodgy cappuccino from Wankbucks

Hey guys, its KoolSamGames. Lets try to hit 5 likes on this video, and i will giveaway a itunes gift card my aunt sally gave me, it still has 71 cents left on it.

I will agree, there are a lot of useless videos now on Youtube.  A good amount of times, this situation makes it hard to find videos that actually have good info.

Probable reason why I now hunt information on forum boards, but darn a video on painting and drawing is better way to explain techniques.

That's just how the direction the entire social media and conventional media industry is heading. Many news outlets are resorting to these tricks as well because that's what generates traffic.

Oh, I definitely agree. Let's plays, shitty vevo music videos and prank videos are the majority of Youtube, and it's cancer. There still is great content on Youtube, but it's not what gets popular, and it's a shame.

So, I just have my subscriptions page bookmarked instead of just youtube.com, so I can avoid the cancer. Though, I still see the cancer in the recommended on the right of the video player. I remember when that section was for "related videos", now it's just unrelated trending garbage, maybe with a few related videos thrown in somewhere.

Don't even get me started about how much of a mess the site itself has become. The comments notifications don't even work anymore, I can barely ever respond to a comment because it says "comment failed to post" most of the time, etc etc etc.

I also remember the "beta channels", god those were AMAZING! Youtube channels used to look like websites, they were so customization, now they're all boring and look the god damn same.

Youtube is going down the shitter more and more. But there's no alternative, so we just have to deal with it.

Needed to vent, lmao. :D

YouTube alot bigger than it used to be and as it's grown the amount of content has increased exponentially and the good stuff gets diluted or obscured by fucking prank videos. Pranks in the Hood and FouseyTube and prank videos in general are like a plague of diarrhea inducing locusts.

Remember Chad Vader? I mean, those videos were about as funny as an ISIS beheading video but there was a kind of innocence about them that I feel has been lost on YouTube as a whole. It actually seemed like the guy cared about making good content by his own standards, it wasn't just a cynical attempt at getting views.

Here's the thing: those kinds of videos like the processor one? Still being made. You just have to look for them as per usual. The only difference is that a lot more people are using youtube now and a lot more stupid videos get popular because of a lot more stupid people watching of course.

Or if you want to go about it in another way: Remember TV? Well a lot of the same kind of general population retards that used to watch TV are now of course watching youtube, are you really surprised than most of those viewers quit fucking Will and Grace or Dancing with the Stars to start watching some neckbeards unlidding and overclocking CPUs? Is it that surprising to find out they now watch prank videos, reactions, etc. ?

i think it's starting to loose viewers , that would explain shock value titles to keep the new comer interested & make em keep on clicking , it's purely a business tactic to keep the wheel spinning , plus those people who are desperate for their channel to go viral does these title manipulation & shit , including clickbait thumbnail

Details separate people.

For a long time YouTube has been a sea of complete shit and has only a few good places to stay in.

A good channel that i always recommend due to the involvement of the presenter and general quality of content is Techmoan, and us tech guys that enjoy good content should always support good channels like these:

Project Diesel 5.0: Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming /// CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X  /// CPU Cooler: Scythe Ninja 5 /// GPU: Zotac AMP Extreme RTX 2070 /// RAM: 2x 16gb G.Skill Ripjaws V @3200mhz /// Chassis: Lian Li Lancool One Digital (black) /// PSU: Super Flower Leadex III 750w /// Storage: Inland Premium 1TB NVME + Toshiba X300 4TB

Blame Google and how they did everything on their reach to ruin it, oh good were the days of the 5 stars rating system and freedom to have an account solely in youtube not on G+ bulls...

tech videos from unreliable channels all follow the formula, beg review samples, make biased reviews saying it is the best thing ever, a 1800 dollars build that uses an i5 6600k and a GTX 1070 with over 3000 likes with the "highly recommended seal" of the channel, then we have all these "noobs" coming here afterwards complaining their CPU that cost them a fortune with coolers and motherboards along can't even run Ubisoft games and we have to teach'em better value for money.

Lol you guys are making me feel bad for enjoying YouTube and being 11 :(

Oh, and @v0nn_toaster, the small list you made at the beginning is NOTHING compared to YouTube's entire library. I know you said the list goes "on and on" but those videos are posted because there are communities that enjoy them. Some more examples of stuff I enjoy are:

1. Computers

2. Vox videos (Vox is a channel, not really sure how to describe their videos)

3. Nerf guns (unboxings, modding, firing, etc.)

4. RC cars

I have a few more I could list, but you get the point (I hope).

Quote me to see my reply!
