GTX 1080 under £499 - UK Price drop

treeroy

Hey, not trying to sound like a shill for Nvidia or Overclockers but I noticed on OC that since the announcement of 1080 Ti, most of the 1080s have had their prices cut significantly. There are lots of 1080s for around £500 whereas they were previously all above £580. maybe a good time to get them

Wait until I get my tax return and find someone trying to sell a 1080 for $400 in a desperate attempt to fund their 1080ti purchase!

Looks like some of the GTX 1070s have some price cuts as well.

I just received an email that the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW is now back in stock, $1499.99 NZD ($1056 USD). I wonder how long it will take for the price drop to reach stores here, and how much it will be.

I had already noticed this before OP posted this thread, but thought to myself, this is how it always goes. If you live across the pond you are going to get screwed some way or another. Or if you aren't from the US in general.

When they first announce a product (and that applies to pretty much every tech company); conversion rates???, who needs them right, because $1 is £ is €1, right?

But then when a price drops, like now, that conversion seems to kick in, and now all of a sudden $100 isn't £100 anymore, it might be £30 or possibly £50, but not £100.
