Hey guys!, hope you are having good day.

So, I've some money saved up and i am wandering if I should upgrade and if so, what should I change/get,

My current setup:

Cpu: e3-1231v3 ( all cores at 3.8 )

Mobo: H97-Plus

Ram: 16gb 1600mhz

Gpu: GTX 1080 Strix

Ssd: 1tb ( 2*250gb and 1*500gb )

Hdd: 1tb

Psu: 750w G2

Monitor: Acer Xb241h

Should I change the cpu/platform and jump to Ryzen ( I know, wait for benchmarks )? Particularly interested in the R5 1600x, my current cpu seems to struggle with Watch Dogs 2, Gta 5, Battlefield 1 and in few other games.

PS: Is it me or all the 11's during the presentation ( 11gb vram, 11gbits ) seem like foreshadowing ( Volta 11 instead of 20? )

It's coming in Q2 2017 so we can't say for sure yet, but 6 ryzen cores vs 4 haswell cores would be a nice upgrade, but we don't know for sure yet, anyway, I'd look at i7-5820k stock clock benchmarks if you're looking for something that is close :)

So Ryzen's ipc is higher than Haswell, right? 5~15% give or take? Well, this pc is solely for gaming, 6 cores at 4ghz ( allegedly ) seems to give me a nice headroom in the future if i upgrade my gpu or games start using all cpu threads more efficiently/evenly.

yeah you could maybe upgrade your cpu. honestly it seems like you have a very good setup and maybe could benefit from getting something like a second monitor or something.

I was thinking about it, since my XB241H already has 3 dead pixels, waiting for the gsync hdr monitors to release and be somewhat affordable ( below the 600 bucks mark )

Then I'd wait. If it's not a need, why rush yourself into something you're not going to enjoy? Patience is virtue!

It is a virtue indeed, the thing is, i am not playing games that demand much from my rig atm( WoW mainly ), but when i fire up Watch Dogs 2, its ugly, 90~40 fps cuz the cpu cant keep up, not even Gsync can smooth out the drops, i can live without Watch Dogs 2, but man, if Mass Effect 4 is the same ( cpu hog ), I'll cry in a very manly way.

Yeah I don't think mass effect 4 will be as cpu intensive as watch dogs 2. I mostly think this because mass effects isn't a big open world game like watch dogs 2 is.
