Moving Mobile Authentication to New Phone

I am getting a new phone in a month or tw and i will need to move the Steam mobile authenticator too. How can i do that?

CPU: Intel i9 12900K

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H150i Elite Capellix

OS: Windows 11 Home

Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU 27" 1440p @ 165hz

Keyboard: Razer Black Widow Chroma

Sound: Sony MDR 1000x Headphones, Blue Snowball Microphone

 

Laptop Specs:

Gigabyte Aorus 15G

CPU: Intel i7 10875H

RAM: 16gb DDR4

Storage: 512gb NVMe, 1TB Crucial MX300 SATA SSD

Go to your Settings in steam click on manage steam guard account security, then click on remove Authenticator.

1. Get back-up codes (Steam settings -> Account -> Manage Steam Guard Account Security)

2. Remove authenticator from use on the same page as above

3. Add authenticator with the new phone

Just download the app on the new phone?

remove it from the old phone, put it on the new one, note you may have trade restrictions for 7 days. Sometimes when i switch phone i get the 7 day thing, other times i don't. No clue why
