Okay, first of all, I've decided on a MacBook Pro because I've had good experiences with Macs in the past. Obviously this won't be my main PC, so yeah. Anyway, I'm looking at a 13" with touch bar. What's the best valued one I can get? It might be the cheapest, it might be the highest, I just need the best value. It can be any combination of anything. Fire away.

I'd say the 15 inch 2014 model with the 750m, or 15 inch 2015 model with the M370x.

the new ones are shockingly bad value for the money

plus, no ports

I've got a 2015 13" model and love it, and that is for the reasons I bought it. Small, compact, powerful, long battery life, doesnt age and a great screen. If you have a powerful desktop, just get the cheapest one, but defo go pro in my opinion

I'd like one with a touch bar, as I plan on using it for various things (Final Cut Pro X) among others. This is my first real expensive PC, so I'd like something new and great, and I'm one for gimmicky things, as I think they are cool, so yeah...I'd like specifically a 13" with a touch bar.

well its hard to tell you what would be the best value when all of the models are crap values. they really messed up with the 2016 macbook pro

Yeah, I know they aren't great values. I'm not too worried about the money, that being said, I'd still like to get the best value.

Then why not just get the most expensive model. I mean if you are getting something overpriced you might as well get something that has all the bells and whistles

i agree with this. just go balls to the balls. Macbooks in all fairness age really well. Also really sadly because my first gen 2012 ivy bridge quad core with a 650m runs just as well as modern 2016 macbooks.

If you're looking for gimmicks, then the best thing to do is to not spend thousands of dollars on a poorly designed, overpriced machine. I'd suggest you save your money until you're looking for a machine to use, not ogle at.

If you really just want the latest and greatest (however much I disagree with the latter) MacBook, then that's your prerogative, but I strongly recommend you closely examine your reasons.
