Corsair M65 scroll going haywire, what to do?

I noticed some problems with my scroll wheel a few days ago, i use the middle click quite a lot, and most of the time i would try to use it, it wouldn't work, still, the scroll function was working normally.

Now the scroll function doesn't seem to be working properly, when i scroll down 2 lines down, it scrolls 1 one up and vice-versa, if i gently tap it to the table, it scrolls down 1 line, if i tap it harder, it scrolls down 3 lines.

I think the decoder on the scroll wheel has gone haywire, after all, i've been using this same mouse since early 2014.

i tried to clean it with contact cleaner, but that hasn't solved the issue, is there anything else i can do or is it a goner?

Same thing happened to me.

I'm living with it right now, and plan to replace it soon. I don't think it's fixable, although I would love to be able to fix it.

It's probably busted for good given the fact that it got progressively worse.

Get a new mouse or warranty it if it's still in warranty. All mice break over time, some worse than others. I had a mouse start double-clicking on me when I only clicked once after a few years.

I had a problem like this with the scroll click on the M60 version, mostly taking it apart and cleaning to ensure the sensors were free of dust and debris using 99% isopropyl. However the tactile switch had to be rebuilt as I couldn't source the original.

The scroll wheel on mine did the same thing, then fixed itself, then the middle click died and the rest of the scroll wheel worked.  It seems to be a pretty common issue.  Ended up upgrading to a G900 though.

Ayayay, it does seem to be a common issue with this model, that sucks a lot, because i actually liked the mouse.

Like i said, i tried to clean the inside of it and that hasn't solved the issue, i think i'm just going to replace it with something else...

I'm going to replace it with the ROG Gladius II When it comes out.

IIRC I had the same problem with my M95 a few years ago.

The only fix was restarting the PC or maybe unplugging and replugging the mouse.

It seems to be an issue with corsair, haven't had any similar issues with my new MX master.

I'm not sure what i'm going to get, i'd like to try something from Zowie or a Mionix Naos, but since i'm cutting costs, i think i'm going to get something under R$250.

Like, it had to be now, when i'm saving for a new amplifier for my setup...

I just re-configured it so the sniper button on the side middle clicks, so I can get use middle click in games.

Weirdly enough, it doesn't work when i unplug it or restart the PC, neither when i try to use it on another machine, i think the decoder on the circuit has gone bad...

I did that as well when it first happened, that's a good idea!
