A BIOS is kind of like the OS of the motherboard. Without a BIOS fit for the CPU you are getting, the PC might not start up. Most, if not all, motherboards' BIOS can be updated only if you have a working CPU in the BIOS.

Did you perhaps choose a Kaby Lake CPU (7500, 7600, 7700K, etc. etc.) with a motherboard that starts with a 1? (H110, H170, etc.)

Those motherboards are made for older CPU's, so the BIOS might not be able to handle the new CPU's. You can choose to get a motherboard that starts with a 2 or ask the store if the motherboard has the newest BIOS (you can often check by looking up the serial code or generally by looking when the board in question was made).

Unless it's to add support to the CPU you've picked, it should be fine to just skip the BIOS update.

Yeah, what I said applies here.

Either go for a B250 board (cheapest boards that always support that CPU) or check with the store if the H110 has the Kaby Lake ready BIOS (I know Gigabyte says their Nov. 2016 and newer boards support Kaby Lake, not sure about Asus) or ask the store to perform a BIOS update themselves.

There are numerous Asus H110M motherboards. I checked a couple of them and none list the G4650 as a supported cpu. This may simply be due to the cpu's relatively recent release. If it is supported, it's quite likely that a BIOS update will be required for motherboards currently in the supply chain.

You will not be able to update the BIOS on H110M motherboards without a working cpu, i.e. a cpu that does not require a BIOS upgrade installed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
