Restart a program hourly? Task?

Hey guys, just a quick one.

I have uTorrent running on a server of mine. It's currently using a SOCK5 proxy but looses connection if its been dormant for over an hour. Its fixed by restarting the program.

Is there a way I can make like a cron job so that the program is killed/started on an hourly basis?

This would be on Windows 7

Thanks guys!

xD

Wouldn't it make more sense to solve the problem rather than covering up the symptom?  Find out why uTorrent is crashing and fix that, or switch programs all together?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Thanks @Pattycake and @deXxterlab97 for the replies. I will try those solutions.

To be honest @Ryan_Vickers , I think its a problem with my VPN client! I think it expires my session when no traffic has been passed through in "X" minutes. I would of course like to fix the issue, because if there is a torrent mid-way downloading and uTorrent restarts, it has to "re-check" what it has downloaded which can take a decade :P

Yeah that definitely can be annoying on larger ones, so that's just one more reason to try to find a better solution

Totally agree, for now this aggressive kill/start batch file will have to do.

I guess its time to contact customer support! Oh the joys xD

Can you do something like ping Google or generate some kind of network traffic every five minutes?
