  1. Hi guys, just bought a 5600x to upgrade my rig. I would like to upgrade to Corsair vengeance RGB 3600mhz memory (CMW16GX4M2D3600C18). But I cant for the life of me find out if its compatible with my Asus ROG B450-F motherboard? Anyone have any insight or thoughts?
  2. Yeah maybe, I was hoping that I would have a better chance at a higher turbo clock then what I'm getting with a Xeon
  3. Oh sorry, another piece I forgot. I'm using a Intel DX79TO
  4. And is the 3960x still too old do you think? I know its hard to estimate how a 10 year old CPU will I can see in HWMonitor that at one stage the cores did boost to 3.8, not not while gaming. Holds steady at 3.1. Also I only have 4 channels populated as one of the slots is broken.
  5. I recently got a GTX 1660 Super for a spare rig I own. The rig has a Xeon E5-2690. When playing Apex Legends, I notice large fluctuations from 80fps to 144fps. The GPU mostly stays in the 70%-80% utilisation area with dips down to 60% and the CPU hovers around 50% @3.1ghz. Changing graphics quality rarely makes a difference, and the CPU never goes above 3.1ghz on all 12 threads. GPU stays at the same clock. Clarity: CPU: 50 degrees GPU: 70 degrees Tried both SSD and HDD Is the CPU bottlenecking the GPU? Would a 3930k or a 3970x help my situat
  6. Something else to note. the first time this happened I had made changes that day with FPS caps using nvidia profile inspector, which I thought corrupted the driver, but I have wiped the pc of drivers with DDU. Im using the PC right now, but with no drivers installed, so Im running roughly @30hz
  7. Windows 10 Pro - Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041 It was on a newer version, but I have rolled back
  8. No, I have nothing spare with m I thought if it was a GPU/PSU issue I would have continued to see issues, even with no drivers installed . . . . that's what confuses me
  9. I'm obviously joking, I bought it for €150 before prices wen't crazy. But now they're going for €500 I was really hoping it wasnt thr GPU. What a bad time
  10. Nope, no luck. Rolled back all previous Windows updated in the past month Rolled back Nvidia drivers. Switched PCIe slot Used different PSU cables (different rail I think) Still crashes when playing a game or when booting into Windows. Also crashes when trying to install a driver I can even Remote Desktop into the PC when the screen goes black. It still amazes me that the PC runs perfect with no GPU drivers installed. Any ideas anyone? Is my €700 GTX1660 dead?
  11. Was able to pull thhese from the event log last night: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Component: PCI Express Root Port Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express) Primary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x3:0x0 Secondary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x0:0x0 Primary Device Name:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3C08&SUBSYS_49538086&REV_07 Secondary Device Name: Then this: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. I have uninstalled the most recent Windows update, but have still yet to reinstall the GPU driver. PC still runs ok
  12. I'll try to rollback the Windows update. PC runs perfectly fine in Safe Mode. Im 80% sure it crashes when the driver is installed.
  13. I think something happened recently. I'm getting the same symptoms with a GTX 1660, screen goes black but I can still hear the audio. PC runs perfectly in Safe Mode. Someone told me the most recent WIndows update has broken stuff and to roll that back. Going to try that now.
  14. So just a bump on this thread, I moved the graphics card to the second slot on my motherboard. I also reinstalled the GPU drivers. The PC ran perfectly for a day then it crashed again. The symptom is actually a black screen, with the GPU fans running at 100% but the computer is still running cause I can hear my friends in Discord. So the PC isn't actually crashing. Driver, PSU or GPU im thinking?
