My thoughts on Ryzen is that, the 1700 is not worth it for gaming, Video editing yes, but gaming is a pure no, i think a 6 core 12 thread cpu will make sense, i also think they should bring back tri cores because that will balance the price out between a quad core and a dual core, then i would say fuc* dual cores.

They'll probably bring lower end ones later. However, it's shown that they do wonders for gaming.

I really just hate all the threads started for Ryzen. It really makes me want to never come on this forum.

Ryzen is good for gaming and streaming, but count it out of the mid- to high-end workstation competition due to apparent lack of dual m.2 (except for the x370 boeards and 1800X), lack of PCIe lanes (for NVLink), and lack of quad channel memory and ECC support.

My thoughts as well.... 8C/16T makes no sense whatsoever for gaming, whereas 6C/12T does :D

Not really... We need a 1 hour version of this, then it would be more accurate xD

For example, 4 cores could be allocated to gaming, while 2 cores could be allocated to streaming. Catch my drift?

It's almost the only post that are going on at the moment. I'm here, I might as well just give my insight:

It's quite sad that they will start the line up with only these processors . I love the pricing, but I'm not in the market for those high end processors. I really hope they release the R3 and R5 range soon.

Yep. And it will overclock better, so you will still get good gaming performance... ;)

One of the first reviews that I've seen.  @Space Reptile found it.

GENIUS ITS LIKE MIXING ORANGE POP WITH ROOT BEER, ITS PURE SCIENCE.

Well fewer cores means less heat and less heat allows you to use more voltage, so you should be able to get higher clocks which means better single core performance which means better gaming performance :D

How can anyone reach these conclusions before a single test on the CPUs capabilities is out?

Because it is on par with a 6900K and it has been proven time and time again that this CPU is not worth it for gaming?

haha.  I know right.  They did run the 7700k stock and overclocked so that you can compare all of them.

This one is time stamped for those with little time.

Reminds me of what Linus said, there is no competition in overclocking since intel already clocks there cpu's around 4.2 GHz or so.
