Too many posts considering THE SAME topic

Hi guys,

After being on the forum for quite a while now, I realized that if people need something, they come, make a new topic and post it. However, there is a SEARCH window in the top right corner, where IF YOU JUST insert a few key words, a whole graveyard of recent topics pop up. You can get every information there. I'm talking about the usuall stuff. What gpu, cpu, build, case should you buy and stuff. And even some of more selected topics are there as well. In fact, everything is there, you just have to look for it.

Every time I come here, there are the same questions in the recent topic tab. Legit same topics posted over and over. How many people asked about the new Ryzen? How many times did we have to "kindly" explain that it wasn't out yet and that they should wait. I feel like people just spam the forum with same stuff all over and that because of that, quality of answers decreases.

May I suggest that everybody goes for the search window first and then post a topic if there really isn't anything to find in the graveyard of topics (many of those, if I may, have some really good answers). It seems that if people actually need some serious advice, they don't get it here. Everything about this forum became so generalized.

You can ofcourse have your own opinion, I think I have to say it before somebody gets buthurt about it. I really feel that this forum isn't reaching its full potential. We're the ones who make it great. And using the search window would help to decrease needless topics. Share your thoughts on this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

P.S. That doesn't count for all of the great stuff that gets asked and posted, only for the repetitive.

I totally agree. the searchfunction is an underrated functionality. People seriously need to learn to google.

I work at an IT helpdesk and the general understanding of a google search action is so low that people seriously need to be tought how to type in an web address sometimes. yet they know how to reach an it servicedesk by phone. crazy sometimes.

I believe it's xda but as you're typing the topic title in shows a list of other topics that could be a match.

Mods are there to merge topics if multiple are made at the same time, and old ones shouldn't be revived. The search function isn't the greatest either.

People need to learn to google, sure, but in the meantime that's why we're here. If a topic doesn't interest you, leave it.

Hey, I'm just not satisfied with any IEM posts made by all the other tens of people.

I have specific questions which can only be answered if I post the questions myself.

I believe I addressed that in the P.S section.

If you type GPU, it throws every topic tagged under GPU or has it in the title. Same for everything else.

The search function is there and it works completely fine if you know what key words to search. Also, you can say "leave it" for everything in life but it's often not the right decision to make. I'm talking about the quality of forum contend, not interest in certain topics. It seems sometimes that people do absolutely no research by themselves and we're doing it for them. That seems stupid but fine. We're here to help.

The forum has been like this for years, I don't remember a time when it wasn't like that.

I think about 90% of the topics on this forum can be resolved with under 10 minutes of light googling or by looking at what other people have posted.
