Got a notification for a thread I never commented on?

So this is the first time I've noticed this, but I got a notification for a thread I never even looked at (let alone commented on). Using whatever the latest version of Chrome is as of this post.

You might have accidentally clicked the follow button at the top right of the thread.

Was just editing this in, but I didn't follow it by accident (wasn't even on my PC at the time to do so).

Try checking your profile preferences and see if you can find anything linked to that?

So far that seems to be the case. Maybe IPS decided it hates me today lol

I had the same thing happen to me the other day as well.  It was on this topic "Very Cheap Lg G Watch R any good?" and I never looked at the topic or any other phone/tablet related topic ever.  Thought it was strange.

Looks like you got three notifications rather than one

That topic was split off from Show Off Your Setup, which you do appear to be following. You could probably argue both ways about whether the notification should be left if the topic is split, though in this case it would have made more sense to remove it.

That's weird, but it explains what happened.
