budget cpu for gaming

idc about budget I need a budget cpu for gaming like gta 5 and csgo and many other big cpu or just huge games in general

Which graphics card do you have? Do you already have a platform in mind? A locked i3 is a decent option or just wait for ryzen

this is Trump level contradicting. GTA V is very cpu heavy, something like an i5 should do, i7 preferable, idk about what on AMD currently available can manage, but zen should release somewhat soon. But csgo should be fine on an i3, most games that aren't cpu intense should be ok on an i3

really weak cpu, but it will get the job done. if you can a cheap xeon will help a lot in cpu intensive games like gta.

Nothing has been confirmed yet but based on the information it should be quite a bit cheaper than Intel's current lineup with similar performance. Bottom line is you should wait as it can't hurt and possibly save you some money

its like $115 the fx 4350 is $60 or something close to that

Don't go for amd's current cpus. Only the cpus they are releasing at the end of the month are worth considering.

basically, picture 2 physical cores. They show up as 2 logical cores in the system.

Now picture each of those cores cut in half. Still 2 physical cores, but 4 logical cores in the system.

Yes but keep in mind the FX 4350 is the same, its really only two modules designed to act like 4 cores. But in comparison the G4560 performs better; about 25% better single core performance and 17% better multicore performance.

Going with the G4560 will also give you more upgrade paths in the future rather then going with the FX line, which is 5 years old now.

 

The xeons people are talking about in the previous posts isn't the latest models but the X5650 probably. I would say go with the X5660 since its slightly faster but about the same price; on ebay it's about $50-55 and the X5650 is about $45-50. The X5660 is a 2.8GHz(3.2Ghz boost), 6 core, 12 thread CPU; while it's about 25% slower than the G4560 in single core performance, its about 100% more performance in multicore tasks and ideal for games like GTA. If you can find a overclockable LGA1366 motherboard to pair it with, you can push it even further.
