I checked the search function but did not find anything.

Is there a noise canceling adapter for headphones? I have a pair of V-moda headphones and I would love to use them to their fullest.

Not possible, it has to be within the headphone circuitry, otherwise the processing and latency between would be too high for anything that isn't a constant noise for it to be effective.

do you have a picture diagram of this practice?

edit:

I guess im confused as to were the latency occurs. from what I know, a ANC device has a mic, recieves the sound wave, flips the wave and projects that flipped wave through the speakers in the cups. what difference would it be if you put the technology into an adapter piece? from my stand point, it seem more like a business point that a company such as bose would only offer ANC with their headphones so youll go spend $200 on their product as appose to $40 for the simple adapter that you could put on the cheapest headphones. or on their cheaper models that dont have ANC. which would make the ANC headphones a fixed price based on the price of the ANC adapter + their cheap model.

sorry that was one consistant thought built off the multiple impression of logic. so unless my logic is flawed, then the reason I cant find an adapter is simply becuase the ones with the technology want to keep the exact price it cost to manufacture the device a secret so they can charge out the wazoo for something that is probably $5.

While your logic isn't really flawed, its just wrong, because to block a set of sound waves with ANC you also have to know what frequencies your driver can generate. A company like Blose just offers a product at a high price point because they can. Implementing ANC does add to the cost though, not because the parts are expensive but there are lots of parts too it, and they need to be integrated into a small space.

ok that makes sense.

Though, if its worth saying once, its worth saying again. ANC is bad, PI is better.

i love pi!

I like my monitoring (real not "DJ" monitors) headphones for isolation, they have always been better than active. Having said that, sony have some earbuds with an inline ANC device, it could be hacked to use with any other headphones but I doubt the experience would be worth it.

Pie is not a joke, sir.

There is only one thing more serious than audio, and that is pie,  lemon meringue, apple, blackberry, steak bacon and mushroom. the list goes on.
