I have just bought the galax 1070 ex built the system and the fans don't spin. I bought this card because I thought the fans where set to 50% at all time is this normal???

Get EVGA prcision OC and make a custom fan curve

Download MSi Afterburner and set a custom fan curve to escalate as heat comes.

Its fine they will only spin under load.

Does the GPU work? IF it does then just do what the above comments are saying.

I looked up this card and the fans are supposed to spin at about 50% all the time.

Try running a game and see if they turn on at all. If they dont contact the seller and get a replacement. If they do, you should be good, maybe they have updated the software and forgot to update description. or you can try afterburner and use that to see if the fans turn on and set them to 50% all the time or pretty much anyway you like

Yes, it's normal. Save on noise and stuff. Generally fans will kick in around 50 to 60 degrees. I'd recommend Afterburner to a custom fan curve.
