So after a few months of using windows 10 I've grown to accept the awkward ui until now. Microsoft has crossed the line with how they run the os and i just can't accept it. I need windows to run specific software for school and can't just switch back to Linux (Honestly, i miss Ubuntu) My current problem is adds withing the os (I payed $120 for a windows license only for Microsoft to use it to make more money?!) and how to remove them?

I'm not scared of the registry.

It's called "look through the settings"

I'm amazed that in the 21st century people are incapable of spending a few minutes actually reading all the settings to figure out what they do or do not want...

On your way, Check out the Setting panels. It is filled with options related to Windows 10.

Don't forget, on a new Windows install, configure your Maintenance, Windows Update, and Defrag (if you have an HDD) schedule, so that it doesn't affect you while you use your computer actively.

> Maintenance schedule is defined in: Start > Type: Maintenance > Pick: Security and Maintenance > expand: Maintenance > Change Maintenance settings (blue link)

> Windows Update schedule is defined in: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Active Hours

> Defragment schedule: Start > type: Defrag > Pick: Defragment and Optimize disk > Change Settings.

Blame Microsoft for making the setting too annoying. And i was at school when i asked the question, Didn't have time. Knowing Microsoft i thought it would be somewhere in the registry.. Guess it's my fault for overthinking it..

Are you kidding me?

The new settings panel is way better than trying to find stuff in the old control panel.

Looking through settings is something everyone should do when they get a new device or software that they never used before...

This is like trying to drive a car without knowing where the blinkers and hand brake are located.

Seriously, just spend the 15 minutes to look through all the settings and you will never have to ask questions again.

Sorry i'm still kinda new to windows.. I switched to Ubuntu back in the windows vista days and haven't looked back until now.

And like i said, I made this post AT SCHOOL! i didn't have to look thru the settings window because i was AT SCHOOL!, Honestly it's still Microsoft's fault for including both 'settings' AND 'control pannel'

No, That would be ridiculous. I saw the adds at school, Looked thru the control panel on how to change them (Haven't used windows in 4+ years) couldn't see a toggle and decided to stop wasting my time and ask people on LTT forum for help.

Well I said earlier, people need to read through the settings when they get a new device or software.

Aka right after installing windows 10.
