Based on the coilwhine it makes, that probably isnt a good idea...
Coil whine doesn't correlate to being a bad PSU but let's not pull an Austin Evans and let's keep things to one PSU.
If you don't have the original shroud it will most certainly be harder to sell your GPU. Perhaps advertise it for awhile and see what people offer for it.
Also an EDIT: With a heavily overclocked 3960X and two 780tis in SLI the system Guru3D used reached 617W demanded under load which is a little too close to comfort for me but would technically work for you if you avoided overclocking. http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/gtx-780-ti-sli-geforce-review,4.html
